Twisted Sister’s Dee Snider has slammed Clive Palmer ahead of his Australian shows
In a world where politicians feel like they can use music from bands/artists without permission, an interesting turn of events have taken place in our own backyard with wanna-be polly Clive Palmer re-working the Twisted Sister classic ‘We’re Not Gonna Take It‘ for his political campaign advertisements here in Australia.
But, word has gotten back to the band, including frontman Dee Snider, who has slammed the party for using their song without permission:
No we do not endorse @PalmerUtdParty! We are contacting our legal team to address this and if that doesn't work…I'LL BE DOWN UNDER IN THREE WEEKS TO DEAL WITH IT MYSELF! https://t.co/h9T2O2GAkQ

"We're Not Gonna Take It" is a song about EVERYONE'S right to free choice. "We've got the right to chose and there ain't no way we'll lose it!" The FIRST LINE of the first verse! Clive Palmer and the @PalmerUtdParty are NOT pro choice…so THIS AIN'T HIS SONG!

Dee will be venturing to Melbourne in Sydney at the end of the month for a solo/spoken word tour and you can imagine just how much shit will be hitting the fan once he arrives. Guitarist/Manager Jay Jay French has also weighed in on the drama too.
Twisted Sister does not endorse Australian politician Clive Palmer, never heard of him and was never informed of Clive Palmer's use of a re -written version of our song Were Not Gonna Take It.
We receive no money from its use and we are investigating how we can stop it.— Jay Jay French (@jayjayfrench) January 1, 2019
In the states, Clive’s kinda/sorta equivalent Donald Trump has been banned from using music by musicians like Neil Young, R.E.M., The Rolling Stones, Queen, Steven Tyler/Aerosmith and even the Twisted Sister lads too which proves if you’re a shit bloke, no one wants to work with you (or have you using their legacy without permission).
No doubt this subject will be brought up at Dee Snider‘s Spoken Word shows too.
