Wall of Sound presents: “2018 YEAR IN REVIEW” – by Wall of Sound UNIFY Intern Adam Rice

Its been a big year for Adam Rice, who scored our first ever Wall of Sound UNIFY Internship and will be heading along with us in a couple of weeks to UNIFY Gathering, covering the event for you and interviewing bands from the lineup for our UNIFY Special Podcast Episode out shortly after the event.

He’s also been straight into the Internship guns blazing with a couple of feature articles on the way very soon, but, let’s see what he thought about the year that was with his contribution for our Wall of Sound 2018 Year In Review…

BEST MUSIC VIDEO OF 2018?

Aburden – ‘To The Sky’

BEST GIG YOU’VE SEEN 2018?

Parkway Drive – Reverence Tour at Riverstage, Brisbane.

No matter how many times I see Parkway Drive, they continuously exceed all my expectations. This show was arguably the best I have ever seen. I have never been to Riverstage prior to seeing Parkway Drive there and it was an experience I won’t forget in a hurry!

NEXT BIG BAND TO WATCH IN 2019?

Ocean Sleeper

With all the work I have done for Wall of Sound thus far, Ocean Sleeper is a band I keep bringing up. They are an impressive four-piece band from rural Victoria and are quickly gaining quite a following. In early 2018 they went to the USA to record their debut album and it is my expectation that once that album is released in early 2019 they will be huge!

FAV BAND YOU DISCOVERED IN 2018

Oceans Ate Alaska

This band made their way onto a random Spotify playlist I was listening to early this year and I really liked what I heard, just after getting heavily into their music, it was announced that they were supporting Make Them Suffer on a national tour which was super exciting. They blew my mind after seeing them live and I can’t wait for them to come back!
