Heroes for Hire – Gig Review & Photo Gallery 22nd December @ Crowbar Brisbane, QLD

Heroes for Hire
Crowbar, Brisbane QLD
December 22nd, 2018

A month ago, Sydney lads Heroes for Hire announced an official farewell tour up the east coast of Australia – something no one saw coming, only in our wildest dreams. Sydney’s AM//PM Emo Night crew took over the Crowbar for the night and brought along everyone’s favourite band from 2010 for the ride, and oh boy, what a show it was! The boys played all the songs we all came to love and hate, as well as downed some shoeys (frontman Brad Smith‘s favourite pastime) with the crowd (featuring Wall of Sound‘s very own Browny!)

It was a night of nostalgia, hearing songs like ‘Save Me’, ‘Secrets Lies and Sins’, and ‘Lights Out’ all over again, as well as their infamous rendition of ‘Teenage Dirtbag‘. Of course, it wouldn’t a be a Heroes for Hire gig without an encore of ‘Dammit’ by blink-182. The farewell/reunion show proved to be the proper send-off the guys deserved, and I stand by the fact that ‘Bright Lights in Paradise‘ is one of the Top 5 Best pop/punk songs in Australia.
