What a week we've had with the NSW State Government and Police doing their hardest to ruin All Ages Music Festivals and Events in Sydney resulting in Good Things Festival no longer being able to allow entry to their Under 18-Year-Old Patrons.

Now it seems festival organisers are also feeling the pressure in other states with an update to their allowance of their Under Age Patrons being issues for Melbourne fans. This morning event organisers shared the update which now states:

Anyone under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

The definition of a responsible adult is a person who is of or over the age of 18 years and is:

a) the minor’s parent, step-parent, guardian, grandparent, or

b) the minor’s spouse who is above the age of 18, or

c) a person who is acting in place of a parent and who could reasonably be expected to exercise responsible supervision of the minor.

The responsible adult must also purchase a valid ticket to the event. Multiple people under 18 can come with the same responsible adult.

Prior to attending the event under 18s must arrange for their parents to contact us (1300 762 545 Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm or email us at info@oztix.com.au) and let us know who will be the responsible adult attending the event with you and provide us with the following information:

1. The order number the ticket was purchased on

2. The patron who is under 18’s full name and date of birth

3. The parent/guardian’s full name and phone number

4. The name, date of birth and phone number of the responsible adult attending the event with you

Enter the event at the same time as a responsible adult

1. Upon entry every person under 18 will be checked to ensure they are with the responsible adult

2. The minor will be issued with an easily distinguishable U18 wristband that has the space where the phone number of the responsible adult can be applied.

So if you're in Melbourne and attending with a single or group of underage patrons, make sure you get in touch this week to let them know all of the required information so you're all able to get through the gates. It's a safety concern which hopefully won't have any issues if followed correctly.

We also launched a petition this week for the NSW State Government and Police to rethink their strategies and rules/regulations which have resulted in Good Things Festival's Sydney's denial of access to Under 18s. So far, none of the local members have been able to respond with any comments or statement on the matter and we are eagerly anticipating a reply from NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian and the NSW Minister for Police Troy Grant.

Will will update you all once we hear back with any developments, until then SIGN and SHARE the Petition to help spread the word about what we are trying to fight for which not only affects the under 18 crowds but the bands who were set to perform for them.
