You know it’s going to be a great week when two bands both announce new music is on the way, the trouble now is having to wait until we get to lay our eyes and ears on it. First up it’s been over a year and a half since Papa Roach released their comeback album Crooked Teeth (our review here) and when lead guitarist Jerry Horton co-hosted our Wall of Sound: Up Against The Wall podcast back in January, he admitted that the band already had new music on the way, but they had to finish the touring cycle for the album first.
Fast Forward to today and the band have revealed on their website that new music is on the way THIS FRIDAY which will be from their tenth studio album, which is scheduled for release in early 2019 In a statement, frontman Jacoby Shaddix stated:
The new album is full of fresh Papa Roach… It’s really inspiring – to be continuing our musical momentum and dropping new music so soon after the release of our last album. We’re so proud of the progression we’ve been experiencing, and I promise you it’s just the beginning…”
The also revealed they’re heading out on Shinedown‘s World Tour with Asking Alexandria opening. No word yet on if that tour will make its way down under but Shinedown frontman Brent Smith did reveal to us his band are planning on heading back to Australia, they just need the right show and the right tour to make up for their decade long absence.
Architects, on the other hand, were less subtle with their new music announcement, showing a teaser for their new single ‘Royal Beggars‘ on Facebook overnight and despite the sample only being 23 seconds long, it’s long enough to spark up more emotion from the metalcore outfit who will be releasing their new album Holy Hell which gets released November 9th via UNFD (Pre-Order here). The new album marks the first release since the tragic passing of guitarist and songwriter Tom Searle, who lost his battle with cancer back in 2016.
