Violent Soho played a Powderfinger classic with Bernard Fanning last night...

Violent Soho and Bernard Fanning. Name a more iconic Brissie collaboration, I dare you, because that's exactly what happened last night at Brisbane Festival's Closing Party which the Soho boys were headlining and goddamn it was as good as a free case of Milton Mangoes.

Held at Riverstage and featuring some of Brisbane's finest acts playing earlier in the day, the epic finale of Brisbane Festival coincided with Riverfire, which featured fighter jets, fireworks and a bloody shitload of people descending upon South Bank, but the real party happened when Mansfield's finest started playing fellow Brissie band Powderfinger's classic 'These Days' with their unique style and frontman Luke Boerdom's articulate twang. About 20 seconds into the song, the boys stopped and unbeknownst to the rowdy crowd in front of them, former St Joey's boy man Bernard walks out, acoustic guitar in hand and plays along amidst a thunderous round of applause, approval and sing-a-longs galore.

It was a sight that had to be seen and something fellow Brisbanites will remember for years to come, the rest of the set included old favourites and no new songs, unlike their appearance at the Big Pineapple Festival (our coverage here). If you missed it, our good mate (and Soho Fanatic) Lucas Sojkowski caught some of the action for you to get some realllly bad FOMO over. Take a look below and scream "Hell Fuck Yeah" with us in 3...2...1...

Keep an eye out for our coverage of the night coming soon
