Avenged Sevenfold released a sneaky EP on Friday

UPDATE: Turns out the band had the wrong version of the track serviced and after complaints from fans, they've taken it upon themselves to deliver the proper version. Download that here
They've been doing surprise drops for a while now and have been making songs for video games twice as long but on Friday, Avenged Sevenfold put out a four track EP called Black Reign featuring a brand new song from the forthcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 video game which is out October 12th.
The new song 'Mad Hatter' marks the fourth collaboration between CoD and A7x and has mad Metallica/Iron Maiden vibes to it. The remaining songs on he EP are a collecton of tracks the band have released on previous Call of Duty games over the years, something that frontman M. Shadows has been a fan of being apart of it seems:
“Black Ops 4 looks insane and is something completely new for fans, so we felt that we should take a similar leap with the music and go for something bigger, darker and more cerebral... We have a very deep relationship with the team at Treyarch,” he adds. “We’re proud to be part of the family and extremely excited for people to enjoy this next chapter and our contribution to it.”
No word yet on if the band will be downloadable characters for the game, if not, the game creators missed a golden tie-in opportunity...
