Australia’s Download Festival Class of 2019 is HERE!!!

After weeks of teasing, the official first lineup for 2019’s Download Festival has arrived and goddamn we’re fuckin’ keen. Featuring the likes of Ozzy Osbourne, Slayerrrrr, Judas Priest, Alice in Chains, Ghost, Rise Against, The Amity Affliction, Anthrax, Halestorm, Behemoth, Me First and the Gimme Gimmes, I Prevail, Converge, Frenzal Rhomb, Luca Brasi, Code Orange, Andy Black, The Fever 333, War on Women, High Tension, Outright, Ruins, Alien Weaponry and heaps more still to come.. yes, this is just the First Announcement!!!

Ozzy will be heading down under for his No More Tours shows, exclusively playing at Download (so this will be your last chance to see the Prince of Darkness) and Slayer will also be doing their Final World Tour shows as well, so once again your last chance to see them in a festival setting. Other festival exclusives include Judas Priest, Rise Against, The Amity Affliction and Halestorm who you can only catch at Download Fest.

Next year will also see the annual music event head north to Sydney for the first time where we’ll see the festivities kick off at Parramatta Park on March 9th before wrapping things up in Melbourne on March 11th at Flemington Racecourse. If you missed the action earlier this year, revisit our coverage here

Tickets Sale Dates are as follows:
Optus Perks Pre-sale: 9am AEDT, Friday September 21 – 12am Saturday September 22 via Optus’ website
General Public On Sale: 9am (AEDT), Wednesday September 26 via the Download website

Tickets are GA $189 + BFs (including Optus Presale) but you can also grab some awesome RIP Deals too for better viewing and bars and the awsome DOUBLE DOWN(LOAD) TICKET: $360 + BFs to attend both Sydney and Melbourne shows.

That’s all for now, but as we mentioned, this is only the first announcement, there’s 36 bands in total, so we’ve got 13 more acts still to come. If you want to know more ahead of the next release, revisit our Rollin’ Coverage to see the full list of bands we predicted to be on the first release (we guessed a total of 9 out of 23, so it’s good to know we’re kinda on the right path, right!?). We also attended the Media Launch where we found out some interesting information regarding future lineups, sideshows and stage setups, take a look at that here. Until then, spread the word and get keen for Download Festival Australia 2019.
