Fall Out Boy released a new (old) EP this week, did you hear it?

Been a Fall Out Boy fan for years but thought their latest release M  A   N    I     A (our review here) was below par for what the guys are capable of? Then maybe their new (old) EP Lake Effect Kid is for you. The guys dropped the 3 track EP to celebrate a massive homecoming show in Chicago and the release features old tracks and a demo that dates back to 2008’s CitizensFOB Mixtape: Welcome to the New Administration, something fans would remember was used to build up hype for their forthcoming album Folie à Deux at the time.

From there, the boys have become a pop punk powerhouse and gained an international fanbase across the world, these three new songs are fantastic and take us back to that era of the band where they were months away from exploding and gaining more attention than bassist Pete Wentz‘s nude photo that was circulating around the time.

What do you think? Wish FoB would head back in this direction as opposed to their current blend of r&b and pop rock? This guys sure does. Grab a copy here
