If you missed the news overnight, Palaye Royale are set to head down under for the East Coast’s Good Things Festival in December and some of you may be scratching your heads wondering “who the fuck are they?”
Well, let’s get you up to speed…
Last year a movie called American Satan was released starring Black Veil Brides‘ frontman Andy Black in the lead role, and it was about a band who literally sell their souls to the Devil (Malcolm McDowell) to make it big in LA and beyond. The band in question is The Relentless (who give off an Avenged Sevenfold/BMTH/Black Veil Brides vibe) and surprisingly, didn’t sound too bad. However, due to label conflicts with Andy Black, he was unable to perform ANY of the songs in the movie which really put a dampener on the whole experience, however, that’s where Palaye Royale came into the mix, their frontman Remington Leith provided the vocal performance for Andy‘s character Johnny Faust.
Now I hate spoilers so I won’t give the movie away, but if you’re looking for a heavy music related movie you can watch while scrolling through social media on your phone, this is the one for you. The references to the heavy metal/hardcore scene are spot on and it almost makes you wish a real band were in the main spot.
Palaye Royale are releasing their new album Boom Boom Room (Side B) via Sumerian Records on September 28th, Pre-Order here too, so hopefully that shines a bit of light on the band and what they’re all about, you can check them out on Facebook and Twitter or just wait until December and see them then. The full Good Things Festival lineup is released on Thursday at 11am. Catch up on everything you need to know so far here.
