Vinnie Paul, Legendary Drummer of Pantera Has Passed Away At Age 54

Drummer Vinnie Paul, former drummer of the legendary Pantera and brother to Dimebag Darrell has sadly passed at age 54.

The news has been confirmed via the Pantera Facebook page:

Vincent Paul Abbott aka Vinnie Paul has passed away,” reads the statement on the Pantera Facebook page. “Paul is best known for his work as the drummer in the bands Pantera and Hellyeah. No further details are available at this time. The family requests you please respect their privacy during this time.”

Vinnie Paul was also a part of the group Hellyeah, which he founded after the demise of Pantera. There’s no doubt this will have a heavy impact on the heavy music world and we at Wall of Sound wish his family, friends, and fans the best in light of this sad news.
