Tomo Miličević breaks silence on Thirty Seconds to Mars absence
Following the release of the band’s woeful new album America last month, Thirty Seconds to Mars fans noticed longtime guitarist Tomo Miličević had been removed from all promotional material and wasn’t pushing the new album at all, sparking rumours he had been kicked out of or left the band.
We first drew your attention to the fan backlash after long time Echelon Members (Fanbase) were asking the band to explain why he was absent, but were met with either deleted comments or no replies. Well, today Tomo himself has addressed his disappearance in a post on his Twitter account where he told fans after fifteen years, he is in fact out:
“I am no longer in Thirty Seconds to Mars”
“I don’t really know how to explain in a note how I could have come to a decision like this, but please believe me when I say this is the best thing for me in my life and also the band…”
He goes onto say how incredibly painful it is to leave due to his attachment to the band, but wants to assure fans there’s no wrongdoing in the process:
“Please don’t be sad or angry over this and most of all, please don’t be divided over this, this is a good thing and will be good for everyone.”
Read the full statement below, but what’s your take on the situation? Obviously it’s a hard one to take in, especially after dedicating your life to the band for so long, the way this departure has been handled could have been done in a more professional way, don’t you think?
Either way, (in my opinion) Thirty Seconds to Mars died when they released America. This new entity is something completely different and lacking the spark and charm the band had in their heyday.
