West Thebarton’s debut album finally has a release date, new video & tour to support
You know how people always go on about how rAdelaide has churches, shark diving, umm, wineries and that’s about it? Well, they’ve also got West Thebarton and that’s better than the previously mentioned topics. The seven-piece have also revealed they’re finally releasing their debut album Different Beings Being Different on May 18th via Domestic La La (James Tidswell‘s new record label).
Frontman Reverend Ray describes the album as a callback to the great Australian rock bands of yesteryear stating it is:
“real Aussie straight-from-the-gut rock. I wanted the record to be fucking grandiose, like INXS or Midnight Oil, but not try and be a pub rock cliche.”
2017 saw the rise of the Westies (and their stellar performance at Big Sound) and 2018 is seeing them finally get the recognition they deserve. Not only are they embarking on an Australian Tour in support of the new album but they’ve also been asked to play Reading & Leeds Festival in the UK… what the actual fuck?!
