Where do you stand on bands with Vegas residencies?

What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas... well, unless you shared the entire stay on your Instagram Stories account (including those "close friends" only videos, we know, we've seen them). But one thing that always stuck with me was bands/musicians that pick up residencies on the Vegas strip are the equivalent of old, aged performers who can no longer tour extensively across the states (and/or the world) so they set up shop at a casino for a while. Think along the lines of Streisand, Elton John and our very own Human Nature who have been performing that way for fuck knows how long.

Well, the blink-182 boys have just announced they will be taking up a residency at the Palms Casino for 16 weekend shows, kicking off from May 26th through until November 17th and I am in two minds about it.

One the one hand, fuck yeah, the chance to go to Vegas, party harder than you ever have in your whole life (again for those who have already been) and see blink a couple nights in a row while you're there. Sounds pretty good right?

Then there's the dark shadow that comes with every good decision you think you're about to make... Is this a cash grab? Does this tarnish the band's brand/image? Am I super old now? Are blink going to break up again? Will Tom make an appearance?

All that and more plague long term fans and everyone will obviously have an opinion on the idea, for this writer, I'm stoked for the guys and am seriously considering jumping on a plane over to make sure I see them while I can. If you're in the same boat, details are below.
