The Zoo, Brisbane QLD
March 9th, 2018
Supports: Quicksand and We Set Sail
Finally had a chance to check Brisbane venue The Zoo last night for Thursday with Quicksand for the Brisbane leg of their Australian Tour, supported by local Brisbane band We Set Sail.
First up for the night, indie boys We Set Sail, who have been in the local music scene since 2008, hit the stage and got the crowd warmed up with an awesome set, punching out a rocking collection of their best music.
Next up was the talented crew that is Quicksand, these New York boys put up an amazing show, With some totally cool dance moves, stage action and windmilling, they got the crowd all fired up with the crowd singing along to their favourite songs.
Finally, through a haze of blue light and smoke, post-hardcore pioneers hailing from New Jersey, Thursday gave the fans what they had been waiting for, smashing into their epic set with high energy, great moves that included a stage crash and stellar save of the guitar by bassist Tim Payne, with a lot of crowd love thrown in.
I have never seen these guys live before but one minute in and I was hooked initially by their stage presence, followed by an epic performance by a truly talented bunch of musicians.
Finishing off their tour with Victoria and South Australia ahead of them, if you don’t have tickets yet you should.
