HIGH TENSION unleash their brutal new song/video ‘Ghost to Ghost’

Ahhhhh it’s a fucking good day for new music, first Parkway Drive released their new (head)banger and now Melbourne’s High Tension are back to smash you in the face with their latest offering ‘Ghost to Ghost‘ and goddamn it’s been well worth the wait.

Frontwoman Karina Utomo explained the origins of the song/forthcoming album came from revisiting her own heritage and the ongoing issues they faced stating:

“Last year I connected with other Indonesians whose families were implicated in the anti-communist purge, even at present, systemic silencing has stopped people from sharing their stories and spreading truth surrounding that era, they described their daily story telling as “dari hantu ke hantu” or “from ghost to ghost” and I felt like this was what I have been trying to attempt for the past decade.”

There’s nothing more brutal in heavy music than the ability to tell the story of a real-life situation and surround it with a heavy as fuck soundtrack to really assist with making sure the point gets across, this is certainly going to make us all think.

High Tension will open at Download Festival in under a month’s time before heading to Alice Springs for the newly announced Blacken Open Air Festival. They’ll return to Melbourne for single launch show at the Gasometer Hotel on April 6th.
