Wicked lighting, epic sound, perfect show!
Last nights show by Unwritten Law was epic to say the least. As they celebrate 20 years of their Black Album on this Australian Anniversary Tour, the crowd was not disappointed once the punk rockers from California made their way to the stage. Fans were treated to an awesome 2 hour set, belting out their favourites with the band, including 'Rest of My Life', 'Save Me', 'Cailin' and 'Seeing Red'.
'Seeing Red' has always been my most loved song and it was just amazing up close and live. The boys left the stage, leaving the crowd chanting for more, which they delivered and returned to the stage to smash out a few more songs before frontman Scott Russo took the stage solo for a few songs with an acoustic guitar and melted the crowd. Then it was back on again, with a final encore and including rocking high energy performance by guitarist Chris Lewis, complete with epic air jumps! Equally impressive performance by drummer Wade Youman and Johnny Grill (brilliant facials!).
It was also great to see the band calling out bad behaviour from the stage, while Scott highlighting the need for the crowd to look after each and sending security in to deal with a couple of unruly guys. It's amazing to see this kind of behaviour will not be tolerated. I can’t rate the venue or their security highly enough. Having missed Unwritten Law during their last trip to Australia, it was an absolute experience to see the boys up close, camera in hand!
The tour continues around Australia, if you get a chance to see this very talented crew – do it.
