Friday will see the release of DZ Deathrays‘ new album Bloody Lovely (our review here) so as you can imagine there’s going to be a shitload of publicity for it this week, and rightfully so, the album fuckin rules! One of the best ideas to come so far are the Bloody Lovely Pop-Up Bars which will be popping up (duh!) down the east coast over the weekend to celebrate the new tunes and the best news is, it’s free entry!
“We have always wanted to open our own bar at some point and I guess this is a good way to test the waters and also launch the new record with a bang,” explains Shane Parsons (guitar/vocals). “In the studio we were trying to get that feeling of a fun dive bar with our music playing in the background while people shoot pool and talk shit.”
Fan have the chance to rub shoulders with the band and their guests as they’ll be playing a DJ set and talking up the new album for one night only at Greaser Bar in Brisbane on Friday Feb 2, Ramblin’ Rascal Tavern in Sydney on Saturday Feb 3 and wrapping up in Melbourne at The Beaufort on Sunday Feb 3. As we said it’s free entry, but will be a first in best dressed scenario… so get in early.
Also, keep an eye out for Shane Parsons as our guest co-host on this week’s episode of Wall of Sound: Up Against The Wall – Coming Soon…
