RIP Dolores O’Riordan of The Cranberries

Remember back in the 90’s when Irish Musicians were popping up all over the world? We had Dropkick Murphys, Flogging Molly, U2, The Corrs, The Tossers, Sinéad O’Connor and of course The Cranberries who were responsible for writing/performing some of the catchiest earworm songs like ‘Zombie‘, ‘Linger‘ and ‘Dreams‘.

Well you’ll probably be caught by surprise too to hear the news that Cranberries frontwoman Dolores O’Riordan has sadly passed away at age 46, confirmed by her publicist who stated:

“Irish and international singer Dolores O’Riordan has died suddenly in London today. She was 46 years old.  The lead singer with the Irish band the Cranberries was in London for a short recording session. No further details are available at this time. Family members are devastated to hear the breaking news and have requested privacy at this very difficult time.”

Local police have said the cause of death is currently unexplained with inquiries continuing. Dolores was in London for a recording session and leaves behind three children with her ex-husband.

Our thoughts are with her family, friends and fans during this time.
