Grinspoon smashed the stage for one last shows of the year at the Best Night Ever!, Nightquarter and goddamn they totally delivered.
Brisbane based chick rockers VOIID hit the stage first and set the night off with some wicked tunes. Local Gold Coasters Eliza & the Delusionals putting on an awesome show following a busy year with the release of new EP The Deeper End. Belting out ‘Salt’, ‘Falling Out’, and ‘Deep End’ (currently up for voting for Triple J’s Unearthed) Eliza & The Delusionals got the crowd going and showed us why they are here for the long run. Melbourne boys British India set the tempo with a range of hits including their latest single ‘Precious’. Having first seen these guys in a pub in Rockhampton many years ago, they didn’t disappoint with their latest show.
And at last, what we had been waiting for – Grinspoon finally hit the stage, guitars and drums blazing. Taking us back and smashing out hits like’ Chemical Heart‘, ‘Hard Act to Follow‘, ‘Better Off Alone‘ and a host of other favourites, the Lismore boys reminding us just how talented they are. Complete with epic crowd surfing, killer solos, an acoustic performance by frontman Phil Jamison, a 20 minute encore, smoke jets and confetti guns making for one epic finale. Definitely a Best Night Ever for New Years Eve Eve.
