KoЯn’s Jonathan Davis releasing solo album next year
KoЯn are headlining Download Festival Melbourne in March with no new music to push (since 2016‘s The Serenity of Suffering) but their frontman, the legendary Jonathan Davis will certainly be pushing his new solo venture and album which is set for release in 2018. In a Facebook Live video he revealed not only is he finally releasing his Somber One merch line which he’s been working on for over a decade but his solo album (which currently is without a name) is currently getting mixed and will be released next year.
Jonathan is no stranger to work outside of his band, having produced and performed songs with Linkin Park, Disturbed and more notably the Queen of the Damned movie soundtrack so hearing the news coming out this week has been no real surprise, but more excitement to see what direction he’ll go in.
He also stated it was the promoter’s decision for KoЯn to not play any sideshows while they’re down under for Download, but assured his Australian fans the band will be back to tour once their new album is out. Keep in mind that 2018 also marks the 20th Anniversary of the release of Follow The Leader (feeling old yet?) so their headline slot could focus more on tracks from that stellar release such as ‘Got The Life‘, ‘Freak On A Leash‘, and maybe a cameo from Limp Bizkit‘s Fred Durst for ‘All In The Family‘…
