Former Dream Theater legend Mike Portnoy is about the hit our shores for one hell of an Australian tour as he brings his Shattered Fortress Tour to eager fans down under, but before he gets here, our interviewer Kurt Boldy grilled him about some of the upcoming or new bands he’s digging at turns out he’s got his eyes set on one of our very own prog-rising Aussie stars stating:
“…I love everything from hardcore metal stuff; I love the new Code Orange album and Deadcross with Dave Lombardo and Mike Patton, so for heavier stuff, I dig what they do.”
“I love a lot of the younger prog bands. I really like Caligula’s Horse from Australia and The Contortionist from here in America.”
We can only imagine how the Brisbane rockers would react to the shout out but considering they’ve already played with Mike in Spain earlier this year for Be Prog My Friend, I’m sure they already know. Catch the full interview here.
