Here’s your 2017 (Heavy/Rock) ARIA Nominees
Ahhh the ARIAs, Australian Music’s night of nights where we celebrate one hit pop wonders who fade away into oblivion and heave music are hidden away like an ugly red headed step child, not to be seen in public congregating with the rest of society, but hey lets focus out energy on the bands that deserve the recognition and hope that they’ll get a television this year when they accept their award… ok now that that’s out of the way, here’s the best of the Australian crop.
Best Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Album
The big one for us metal heads will see the likes of Frenzal Rhomb taking on Airbourne, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Northlane and sleepmakeswaves.
My Prediction: Nothlane because Mesmer was deadset a surprise release masterpiece.
Best Rock Album
Always a mix bag of bands that belong and bands that seriously don’t have a rock bone in their body. This year we’ll see Dune Rats battling it out against The Preatures, Polish Club, Gang of Youths, and Dan Sultan.
My Prediction: Gang of Youths but wouldn’t it be good if the Dunies boys won!!!
Best Live Performance
Violent Soho and a bunch of others…
My Prediction: Realistically, the Soho lads killed it LIVE last year so give them the pointy door stopper.
