What better way to celebrate our 10th episode of Wall of Sound: Up Against The Wall, than by joining in on the celebrations The Getaway Plan are currently having for the 10th Anniversary of their debut album Other Voices, Other Rooms which they’re touring across Australia at the moment. Podcast host Browny grabs frontman Matt Wright to go back in time and discuss what was going on with the band when all of a sudden they were thrown into stardom and success on the back of the album’s two huge singles ‘Streetlights‘ and ‘Where The City Meets The Sea‘ and how being young, dumb and inexperienced may have impacted the band’s future.
The band paved the way for heavier acts around at the same time to get more exposure and they also became household names after receiving stacks of commercial radio success following the release of such an infamous debut release. So take a trip back to your youth and relive your early music loving years with throwbacks from fellow Australian acts like Behind Crimson Eyes, Killing Heidi, Birds of Tokyo and Spiderbait.
Plus we check out New Music from Architects, The Used and Perth four piece Tired Lion who release their highly anticipated debut album Dumb Days on Friday (Pre-Order a copy here)
