Perth’s Rising Force Metal Festival Line Up Announced
The call was put out for upcoming, established and high school bands to put their names in the draw to play at Perth’s Rising Force All Ages Metal Festival organised by the legendary Stu McGill of Silent Knight and this morning, the official band roster has been announced.
Headlining the event will be Perth icons Silent Knight and Voyager who are joined by Nucleust, Vow to Conquer, Suffer In Rot, Population Control, Dethlahem, Remission, Bayview Suspect, Icarus Lives, Morrilla, The Night Caller Massacre and Veridian.
We grabbed event Stu to discuss why he decided on the above mentioned acts:
Congrats on the line up mate, how was the interest from bands wanting to play?
“I’m not sure, probably too many to count! There was a lot of interest which was awesome!”
Well it looks like a decent show, what genre of bands are on the roster?
“A great mix of metal bands, from melodic power/progressive all the way up to brutal death metal, there’s something for everyone”
Nice work, you also gave a young, newly formed band the opportunity to play, who’d you decide on?
“We have a young band from Rock Scholars band program called Veridian who are extremely keen to rock! They have a great shredder on lead guitar & are definitely a metal band! A great opportunity to blood some new recruits”
Tell us about the venue too, it’s a newly set up one for Perth
“The venue is brand new, its a large live room attached to Vision Studios in East Victoria Park. Its central, near public transport (Oats St Station) plenty of food a short walk away… the facility is great quality & looks awesome!”
