While most of the world is still coming to terms with the tragically, preventable loss of Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington, who took his own life on July 20th 2017, I decided to put together a tribute in honour of the man and legend who our generation grew up with, when the band first emerged 17 years ago with their critically acclaimed debut album Hybrid Theory.
In Wall of Sound: Up Against The Wall ‘A Tribute to Chester Bennington’ we’ve got music from that breakthrough album, their just as impressive follow up Meteora and bits and pieces from Linkin Park’s extensive back catalogue as well as music Chester put his voice to including collaborations with Korn, his side project Dead By Sunrise, solo work and his various appearances within the movie industry.
On top of that the message of Suicide Prevention is highlighted throughout the podcast, in recent times we’ve seen far too many people (famous and everyday individuals) take their own lives long before their time should be up and I urge ANYONE who is struggling with their own mental well-bring to get in touch with Lifeline, chat via their website or call 13 11 14. Reach out to your mates, ask them if they’re okay and have a chat, start the conversation which could save their life and be there for them. It only takes a second to make that connection and do the right thing.
Rest in Peace Chester Bennington
Thank you for being a notable voice of our generation…
