We've been working pretty hard behind the scenes here at WoS HQ wondering where the next step of the site will take us and we are all proud to announce our upcoming Podcast series Wall of Sound: Up Against The Wall will officially launch on Monday June 26th hosted by our Owner/Editorial Manager Browny.
For those unaware Paul 'Browny' Brown has had an extensive career within the radio industry for the better part of the past decade starting out on the Gold Coast hosting the Red Eye Radio program across the Southern Cross Austereo's regional network prior to trying his hand at Breakfast Radio for Star FM in Orange, NSW and Hot Fm in Central Queensland (Gladstone/Rockhampton), before he moved to the big smoke in Brisbane where you can now hear him occasionally on 104.5 Triple M. But it's his passion and love for the heavier side of the music industry that brought him to us back in 2014 where he has been putting in the hours to make the site the fast moving beast it is today
Browny elaborated:
"The heavy metal, hardcore and pop-punk music scene has had my attention for years and I have always pushed to have these artists/bands played on commercial radio. Unfortunately (to the uneducated) they're still considered a niche market, and only now and then will a band slip through the cracks and get a play."
"With Wall of Sound: Up Against The Wall, I intend to bring the knowledge I've accumulated along the way in radio to create a new fortnightly music based podcast which appeals to fans of the heavier side of music. Featuring new tracks, throwbacks, reflections on Wall of Sound's original content (e.g. reviews, feature articles, news etc) and a Musical Guest each episode where we'll give fans the opportunity to have their questions asked and get them closer to their favourite bands."
Continuing with Wall of Sound's extended theme of "Killer Content, Done Our Way. By Real Fans, For Fans", the podcast will take on as much fan involvement as possible, whether it be music suggestions for the playlist or recommendations of bands you want us to feature, we encourage everyone of you to take part and send through ideas, give us feedback and help build the podcast you want to listen to.
Browny goes onto explain where he's at with the podcast at the moment:
"We're in the early stages of working out where to take this idea and the possibilities are endless. I remember not being able to get what I wanted from my local radio show when I was younger, and now with music fans heading online to chase what they're after, I want to offer everyone the chance to be part of building a podcast that suits their wants,needs and which caters to us; the sometimes forgotten about heavy music fans"
Episode #1 will launch next Monday June 26th and while we're remaining tight lipped about what to expect with the first edition, all we can say is you do not want to miss out...
