The festival which had been dubbed as the replacement for Soundwave in Australia has officially been canned. In an email sent out to supporters of the event, the organizers advised:

The organizers wish to thank all Aussie metal fans for their continued support of the Legion project over the last 10 months.

Due to a number of business considerations, we have made the decision to not proceed with the proposed launch of Legion Music Fest in January 2017.

Rumor mill is in overdrive but Wall of Sound has reason to believe issues between festival front-runner John Sankey and his former band Devil You Know may have allegedly been the caught. The band were tipped to play the festival alongside acts such as Darkest Hour, Battle Cross, Dream on, Dreamer, 28 Days, Darkc3ll and stacks more but now it looks like the metal/rock community will have to look at other options to fill the void next year.

We will keep you posted on more news as it comes though to us.
