Chiodos is no more as Craig Owens heads into EDM territory

My relationship with following Craig Owens has been pretty up and down. Firstly, I discovered the mad man when he left was booted from Chiodos and he started DRUGS (Destroy Rebuild Until God Shows) which was so promising and sounded so much better than a lot of the shit that was out at the same time.

The band then parted ways at the peak of their popularity and it was announced Craig was returning to Chiodos where they released the album Devil and toured Australia on the back of it early last year.

Well it’s time to get the tissues ready again because in an interview with Billboard, Craig has revealed the band is now more and he’s leaving the heavy music scene to follow in the footsteps of artists like Frank Ocean and The Weeknd. Owens revealed:

“It’s done. It just couldn’t stay afloat. There were just kind of, not necessarily bad vibes, but we came to the realization that we can’t do it full-time. I think it just stopped becoming a passion for all of us, so we said, ‘Alright, let’s stop.'”

His new venture (in case you’re wondering) is called badXchannels and upon first listen of his debut song, you can tell the kind of EDM feel he’s going for. Fans have already stated similarities between Twenty One Pilots and if you had your eyes closed and ears open you’d definitely mistake him for The Weeknd.

We caught up with Craig Owens before he returned to Australia with Chiodos back in 2014. Revisit the good times that chat here

Until next time, dance the fuck out?

Na, fuck that!
