Violent Soho dominate the 2016 ARIA Awards Nominations

Another year, another set of pop acts get highlighted articles about their success and the heavier side is left behind… well not with us! We are happy to share the news of only the decent bands who picked themselves up ARIA Nominations for the ceremony which will take place November 23rd.

Dominating the lists this year are Violent Soho and King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard who have both received a whopping 5 Nominations each including Best Group, Best Independent Release and Best Video just to name a few.

Gizzard also join the likes of Parkway Drive, The Amity Affliction, Hellions and Twelve Foot Ninja who are all in the running for the often forgotten, untelevised (and improperly awarded) Best Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Album Category.

Brisbane’s Violent Soho #1 album WACO will be going up against indie rock acts like Ball Park Music (yawn!), Boy & Bear (mega yawn!), Gang of Youths (meh!) and vintage rockers The Living End for the right to claim Best Rock Album.

Huge congrats to all the heavy bands involved and for those who missed out, don’t let it get to you, just get out there and keep smashing away for the fans that love and appreciate you for all you do.

Until next time, rock the fuck out
