‘Punks Against Poverty’ show in Perth!

Kim Anderson, a photographer, who helps out now again on this website as well as Desert Highways has taken it upon herself to organise a gig, entitled, ‘Punks Against Poverty‘, to riase some much needed coin for ‘Street Smugglers‘.

Street Smugglers summarise their cause as,

“…a non-profit organisation, with a vision for a world where homelessness is not the only option. We want to make an impact, and educate the community about homelessness in a fun and accessible way. We believe in having fun while making positive changes to help those less-fortunate. Street Smugglers is about doing good things in the community.”

Some of Perth’s best punk bands including The Decline have thrown their collective weight behind the show and are playing for free with all monies raised on the night going direct to Street Smugglers! Kim describes her thoughts behind the idea on the Facebook Event Page,

Due to the fact our government is crap and I’ve been feeling pretty inspired since finding out about the Share The Dignity group a couple months ago I’ve decided to throw this gig together to raise money to help out the homeless and those living on the streets.”

How can you argue with that! All the details on the poster below – they’ll also be some giveaways on the night! If you would like to help in anyway possible hit up Kim on the following…
