Wall of Sound presents “2015 YEAR IN REVIEW” – by Witchgrinder’s Travis Everett
Melbourne thrash metallers Witchgrinder are next in Wall of Sound’s 2015 Year in Review and vocalist/guitarist Travis Everett has send through what he believes to be the Best of the Best this year.
Not to forget as well Witchgrinder have had an incredible year wowing audiences at Big Sound in Brisbane, touring with Ace Frehley and releasing their their new album “Haunted” back in June. They’ve also been mentioned on some of our Year in Review lists too. We can’t wait to see what 2016 has in store for these guys but first here’s Travis’ picks:
TOP 5 ALBUMS OF 2015?
1: Lindemann – Skills In Pills “How was I not going to like this, being a fan of Rammstein and Pain. The album has massive riffs, epic choruses and to top it off the twisted vocals from Till (Rammstein). The only way to enjoy this is to sit back and not take things too serious. That’s what I did and it’s by far my fav album of the year”
2: Marilyn Manson – The Pale Emperor “I was quite interested to see the next step of Manson, after seeing him a few years back and what a mess he was I thought he would be dead! But once again the shock rocker surprised me. This album is no “Anti-Christ Superstar” but instead a mellow dark Tom Waits kind of feel. It’s dark and great! Best thing he has done in years.
3: Slayer – Repentless “Not much to say here, it’s Slayer! Will always be Slayer. They are far from holding back on this album and I’m glad to see they still have it in them”
4: Parkway Drive – Ire “I have never been a huge fan of hardcore. I was introduced to this band through their DVDs which I found amazing. I couldn’t quite get into their music but after hearing this album, wow! It is almost Rammstein meets Slipknot. I don’t know how they got to this stage with writing but I love it.
5: Orpheus Omega — Partum Vita Mortem “I dig this album heaps. A local band that has been rocking out for years and I finally caught them live and bought their album. Was very impressed I had no idea how great these guys were”
