Rolling on with WALL OF SOUND’s 2015 Year in Review, Dana Roskvist, frontman, to Melbourne’s long running quartet, Sydonia was happy to submit his best of the best, with a few oddities amongst some great local talent.
Sydonia continued 2015, predominatly in the hometown of Melbourne settling for some local shows before embarking on an east coast tour of Australia in March showcasing some tracks from the band’s third, yet to be released record. The tour coincided with a spot on Brisbane’s El Grande Festival. Early June saw the departure of Sam Haycroft, Sydonia‘s lead guitarist. He was replaced by a talented fellow named, Antman! The band entered the back half of the year with a support slot for the (hed)p.e/Snot tour and lined up alongside Jerrico and New Zealand’s Villainy on a killer tour last month. The band will play with Caligula’s Horse, Dead Letter Circus and Alithia next week with three Victoria shows spread out into the suburbs! Get your tickets!

BEST GIG YOU’VE SEEN 2015?
Mushroom Giant (w/ Siems, Phanton Panda Power Wizard Master Smasher at the Public bar). Expert, intricate musicianmanship, in a loud tight intimate environment. Power Wizard Smasher are something to behold also.
BEST SHOW YOUR BAND HAS PLAYED THIS YEAR?
Supporting Snot and HedPE at the corner. We opened with a new heavy number called Eyes of Sand and people just got it and got into it straight away. It was also one of the first shows we’ve played with our new guitarist/percussionist Antman. It was a great introduction into Sydonia for him and for our fans to him… if that makes sense.
WHAT ARE YOU MOST LOOKING FORWARD TOO IN 2016?
Recording, releasing and touring our third album. It’s literally the best music we’ve written yet.
NEXT BIG BAND IN AUSTRALIA? (not your own haha)
