Northlane's Australian Node Tour kicks off today in Perth and will see the likes of August Burns Red, Like Moths to Flames, Buried in Verona and Ocean Grove touring together across the country for the next couple of weeks. However the tour has hit a bit of a snag with Sydney's Buried in Verona revealing on Facebook due to the volcanic ash cloud over Bali, they're not going to be able to make the first (and possibly second) shows.
"Due to volcanic ash in the air in Bali, all flights out yesterday were cancelled. We have been fighting to get onto new flights and calling the airlines all day and unfortunately our only option was to book to fly overnight through Singapore to Adelaide, costing us extra money and forcing us to miss the first show of the Node tour, but due to the Denpasar airport being closed just minutes ago, we may be forced to miss Adelaide as well. We've got a flight ready, we are just hoping it will be able to leave. We hate doing this to you Australia because all we want to do is get back home and play for you all. You all have always been so good to us, but we promise to make it back up to you. To everyone else, if there's a chance we can make it to Adelaide we'll be there, but if we can't get through we'll see you in Melbourne. Much love from the BIV camp"
It sucks when bands have to cancel last minute but given the circumstances we know there's nothing that could have been done to prevent this from happening. Hopefully those who were keen to see the BIV boys actually got off your arse and saw them when they toured recently with Hand of Mercy on their own Vultures Above/Lions Below tour.
There are still some tickets available for the rest of the tour so if you haven't jumped on it just yet, make sure you do.
