Soulfly have released the music video for the title track of latest album Archangel. Directed by Robert Sexton (Hellyeah, Death Angel) the video features Max Cavelera‘s two sons, Zyon on drums and Igor Jnr on bass. Whilst Zyon Cavalera is a permanent member of Soulfly these days, Igor Jnr has been helping his dad out on Soulfly‘s most recent tours before returning to his duties with his main band, Lody Kong.
Max had this to say in a recent interview with Wall of Sound regarding two of his sons playing in Soulfly;
“Eventually we’ll find a bass player. Igor Jnr has his own band, Lody Kong, and I really want him to go further with that band. But for the moment we are loving it. Two of my kids on the stage, it’s a dream come true as a Dad, and they are doing good. They are playing their asses off. It’s amazing to see them give 110% every night and come off the stage sweating and red faced, tired from show.”
Archangel was released August 14 via Nuclear Blast Records. You can read our featured review of the album here.
Soulfly return to the touring schedule in late September across North America, with fellow Nuclear Blast signed band, Soilwork.
On the chances of a Soulfly tour in 2016 Max said this,
““I hope next year. We are ready. We have a European tour later this year. I hope to do a big tour, maybe something with King Parrot.”
