With Slipknot’s impending hiatus, will Stone Sour hit the studio?

That seems to be the story getting around at the moment after frontman Corey Taylor was quoted earlier in the week saying Slipknot will be taking a hiatus for a couple years following the band’s current tour of their latest album “.5: The Grey Chapter.” The plan was for him to take a short break, before jumping back into the studio with his other band Stone Sour.

While most guys can’t multi task at the best of times, if this story is true we’ll be seeing a follow up to Stone Sour‘s 2013 album “House of Gold & Bones – Part 2” somewhere in 2016. Now this is where the story gets a little complicated, Slipknot guitarist Jim Root has stated he’s already been writing new material for the next album and fellow member Clown had hopes it  would be released somewhere in 2017.

Time will tell if these stories get cleared up and we don’t have the makings of a Band vs Member fight on our hands. We all know last time there was trouble in the Slipknot camp, drummer Joey Jordison was booted from the band he spent 18 years with, making way for Jay Weinberg (formerly of Against Me!) to take a seat at the drum kit.

What do you think, would you rather a new album from Stone Sour or Slipknot?

Until next time, rock the fuck out
